OPPORTUNITIES

Farm Stand Operator – Flower Bouquet Arranger – Farm Hand

Hello from Little Island Chic Farm! We are a generational island farm blooming with ingenuity and busting at the seams with life. Little Island Chic Farm is a small (micro) diversified inland farm situated in the Salish Sea on Orcas Island, the biggest of the San Juan Islands. We attend one weekly farmers market and have a roadside flower farm stand. Though not certified organic we strive to farm in a way that is good for the planet and good for people. This means using cover crop, compost, crop rotation, and organic pest control methods to increase the sustainability of our farm.

We are looking for one enthusiastic, hardworking human to join our crew (part time) for the 2024 season! Farming can be a lot of hard work, but it is also incredibly rewarding. Little Island Chic has annuals and perennial flowers and the main focus is on cultivation and bouquet arrangements of oriental lily varieties and keeping our farm stand up and running. This job is very dynamic; in one day you might harvest and pack for our farm stand, do seeding in the greenhouse, move irrigation sprinklers, and help with small construction projects. If you are interested in learning, working hard, and building a career in sustainable agriculture, then we want you! You are literally getting an internship in what it takes to run a small farm in the Northwest from the everyday responsibilities to the bigger picture (the un-curtained reality).

We are happy to train someone who is a quick learner, gentle soul and flower lover.
